O nie\u010do nesk\u00f4r ho v roku 1689 baptisticky zm\u00fd\u0161\u013eaj\u00faci kres\u0165ania mierne pozmenili v nieko\u013ek\u00fdch \u010dl\u00e1nkoch do podoby, v ktorej je dnes. <!--more-->Je to kolekt\u00edvne dielo sk\u00fasen\u00fdch a osved\u010den\u00fdch pastorov, teol\u00f3gov, zbo\u017en\u00fdch modlitebn\u00edkov. M\u00e1 vysok\u00fd poh\u013ead na P\u00edsmo ako neomyln\u00e9 a dostato\u010dn\u00e9 Bo\u017eie Slovo, na Boha a Jeho atrib\u00faty, na Krista a Jeho osobu a dielo, na stvorenie a prozrete\u013enos\u0165, na evanjelium (spasenie jedine z milosti, vierou, jedine v Kristovi), na sv\u00e4tos\u0165 kres\u0165ansk\u00e9ho \u017eivota, na osobn\u00fd druh\u00fd pr\u00edchod P\u00e1na Je\u017ei\u0161a, vzkriesenie a ve\u010dnos\u0165 v nebi, alebo v zatraten\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>Vyznanie je \u010falej <em>Kalv\u00ednistick\u00e9 \u2013 Reformovan\u00e9<\/em>. Vyzdvihuje milos\u0165 v celej pr\u00e1ci Bo\u017eieho spasenia. Vyzn\u00e1va, \u017ee sme \u00faplne skazen\u00ed a nem\u00f4\u017eeme si, ani nevieme, ani nechceme si pom\u00f4c\u0165; vyzn\u00e1va vyvolenie pred zalo\u017een\u00edm sveta, \u00faplne zvrchovan\u00e9, nez\u00e1visl\u00e9 od n\u00e1s, z \u010d\u00edrej l\u00e1sky pod\u013ea\u00a0Bo\u017eieho pote\u0161enia. Vyzn\u00e1va, \u017ee Kristova smr\u0165 nielen umo\u017enila spasenie, ale tie\u017e dosiahla spasenie vyvolen\u00fdm potrestan\u00edm ich hriechu na Golgote; vyzn\u00e1va, \u017ee len Boh otv\u00e1ra duchovn\u00e9 o\u010di, ke\u010f prin\u00e1\u0161a evanjelium a nadprirodzene znovuzrodzuje vyvolen\u00fdch a hovor\u00ed o milosti, \u010do iste zachov\u00e1 vyvolen\u00fdch a rovnako im daruje vytrva\u0165 vo viere a v pok\u00e1n\u00ed a\u017e do dokonca.<\/p>\n<p>Vyznanie je <em>kovenantn\u00e9<\/em>. Znamen\u00e1 to, \u017ee v pozad\u00ed Bo\u017eieho konania s cirkvou stoj\u00ed zmluva milosti. Boh vstupuje do tejto zmluvy milosti cez Prostredn\u00edka a pr\u00edsahou a zmluvnou bezpe\u010dnos\u0165ou kon\u00e1 dobro pre svojich. Tie\u017e historicky a biblicky dr\u017e\u00ed, \u017ee ako novozmluvn\u00e9 z\u00e1kony, tak starozmluvn\u00e9 (mor\u00e1lne) z\u00e1kony, ktor\u00e9 neboli zru\u0161en\u00e9, platia dnes na\u010falej pre cirkev z\u00e1v\u00e4zne ako vyjadrenie Bo\u017eej v\u00f4le. Hoci \u017eiadnymi t\u00fdmito prik\u00e1zaniami nie sme spasen\u00ed, \u010di u\u017e novozmluvn\u00fdmi alebo starozmluvn\u00fdmi, ak sme v\u0161ak spasen\u00ed, na\u0161u l\u00e1sku dok\u00e1\u017eeme dodr\u017eiavan\u00edm cel\u00e9ho P\u00edsma \u2013 ako starozmluvn\u00fdch, tak novozmluvn\u00fdch prik\u00e1zan\u00ed \u2013 z l\u00e1sky a v\u010fa\u010dnosti.<\/p>\n<p>Vyznanie dr\u017e\u00ed <em>purit\u00e1nsky poh\u013ead na \u017eivot<\/em>. Dnes sa slovo purit\u00e1n \u017eia\u013e zvykne pou\u017e\u00edva\u0165 ako karikat\u00fara, ale historicky purit\u00e1ni brali v\u00e1\u017ene Bo\u017eie Slovo a usilovali sa ho d\u00f4sledne uplat\u0148ova\u0165 na svedomia \u013eud\u00ed v osobnom \u017eivote a v cirkvi, lebo verili, \u017ee Bo\u017eie Slovo je dostato\u010dn\u00e9 pre ich cel\u00fd \u017eivot. Vyznanie apeluje na kres\u0165ansk\u00fa slobodu ako slobodu od otroctva hriechu, diabla a ods\u00fadenia, slobodu \u017ei\u0165 pod\u013ea Bo\u017e\u00edch prik\u00e1zan\u00ed a na slobodu svedomia, ktor\u00e9ho P\u00e1nom je Boh. Preto nie sme pod z\u00e1v\u00e4zkom \u010dloveka, ke\u010f ide proti Bo\u017eiemu Slovu. Vyznanie ver\u00ed, \u017ee hoci nie sme zo sveta, \u017eijeme st\u00e1le na svete a prin\u00e1\u0161a vysok\u00fd poh\u013ead na poriadok, pr\u00e1cu, rodinu, spolo\u010dnos\u0165 a autority od Boha.
